5 TIPS TO YOUR DREAM YOUR PHYSIQUE
He-Man , Arnie , The incredible hulk , The rock…every male will know these characters and will have gazed in awe at the muscular physiques, amazing feats of strength and power all these characters portrayed. At some point we have all thought…id love to look like that or be that strong.
Well what if you could push your physical capabilities and appearance to another super human level??
How awesome would that be??
Well there is nothing from preventing you from becoming your own version of these super hero characters, if only you knew how!!
I have broken it down into 5 simple steps that you must follow if you ever have aspirations of taking your physique and strength to these levels.
1.Lift heavy shit…..lifting weights is what makes us big and strong. Not spinning classes, going jogging, playing football, nor is it TRX or kettle bell classes ( theres only so much an 8kg kettlebell can do for you).
2.KISS-keep it simple stupid….stick to the most basic compound lifts. No need for fancy machine or cables, barbells, plates and dumbells will pretty much cover all your bases…squats, deadlifts, bench press, overhead press, rows, curls, lunges….the magnificent 7 for muscle and strength.
3.Eat ….while this sounds easy, it most often the hardest part to get right. The body needs calories to survive and grow, in order to grow bigger , you need more and more calories. Most importantly is protein, about 1g of protein per lb of bodyweight, then after this we need an adequate amount of both carbs and healthy fats. While fitting your macros anyway possible seems all the rage…this only tells half the story, so make sure most of your food comes from single ingredient , natural sources. Adding some processed foods to this occasionally wont do you any harm in the pursuit of massive size and strength.
4.Rest …the body grows when its at rest. In the gym we are breaking the body down, providing the stimulus we need for the body to sense a need to grow bigger and stronger. Adequate sleep each night, and ensuring we have rest days each week in order to allow us to keep pushing at 100% intensity are essential.
5.Balance ….in everything we do is the key to longevity and actually following this lifestyle long enough to see the gains we dream of. Balance between training, rest, social life but also balance between the muscle groups we train and possibly most importantly, balance in our nutrition making sure we choose nutrition plans that we can stick to for long enough to see us reach our goals, and even balance from meal to meal, not focusing solely on just protein intake as carbs and healthy fats are equally as important.
